Speech-to-Text or voice recognition has been around for years. For those of us using a Mac the technology has been lacking. Although Apple did a good job of including Dictation into macOS it is only useful for short, couple if sentence dictation.
Philips with their Speechlive cloud based solution can include a Speech-to-Text or STT option which converts recorded audio to text. But recently released is a macOS app which will let you talk to your Mac, at a normal or even faster than normal speed and it will convert your spoken words to text with a very high degree of accuracy.
Using the Philips Speechlive app for macOS you can put your cursor anywhere you would type and chat away with the text being produced for you. You can use the in-built mic in your Mac, your Apple AirPods or the Philips SpeechOne headset and mic, designed specifically to get the best quality and cleanest audio into your dictation or STT solution.
The Philips Speechlive Desktop app is free to install for Windows and Mac users from the Philips Speechlive Australia page. The desktop app works with both Apple Intel and Apple Silicon chipsets.
